Bathroom Stall Philosophers

I will resort to using a public restroom in cases of only the most dire emergency.  Just over a year ago, while doing some Christmas shopping in 2007, I had a dire emergency at Barnes & Noble.  On the whole, this restroom only fueled the underlying fear and loathing I have regarding these awful spaces with the lone, awkwardly delightful exception of this discovery I made there.

There will always be a special place in my heart for clever graffiti, especially fun local examples like these.  I’m reminded of the artwork of Banksy, who I consider to be one of the most inspired and talented artists of our time.

Mottled

Interestingly, the color variations here are not artifacts from the camera in my phone.  It appears that there was a separate layer of clouds above the ones I could see which cast shadows leaving blueish-grey spots scattered though the sky.

Receding Line

This sunset was far more striking in person than I could possibly capture with my phone.  I want a decent camera so bad it hurts.  I had the pleasure of using a nice DSLR by Canon at a friend’s wedding the other day and I think I will be broken till I have one of my own.

Late City Nights

Driving at night is always an adventure.  I discover new views of the city while mulling the chaos that is in my head at times.  When I can’t sleep and I’m not in a good place mentally, I will go for a drive.  30 minutes behind the wheel with the windows down on a road I’ve never seen is a great way to gain some perspective.  Sometimes I have to get lost to find some direction.
